If you are working to promote your technology company -- for example services or software -- then you might use business blogging as a way of promoting your site. Blogging on your site is a great way to boost your search engine rankings and bring interest to your site, but there are right and wrong ways to do it. Follow these blogging tips, and you're sure to see success from your efforts.

5 Blogging Tips for Technology Companies

1. Avoid Getting Too Technical

As someone who is involved in the IT space, technical words and phrases probably come second nature to you. Unfortunately, this can make it easy for you to make your blogs a bit too technical. You don't want your readers to get bored by your tech-speak, and you have to ensure that they will actually know what you are talking about.

Even those who have a solid understanding of IT topics and terms can often feel overwhelmed and a bit bored when reading overly-techy blogs. Therefore, you should consider reducing the jargon in your posts and making them more digestible for your audience.

2. Stay Up-to-Date

People want to see that your organisation knows what it is talking about and that you are up-to-date on all of the newest technology and trends. This means that you shouldn't be stuck in the past when writing your posts; keep things up-to-date, and try to tackle new topics more quickly than your competition does.

3. Use Pictures

Pages and pages of black-and-white text can get pretty boring. Consider breaking up the monotony with stock images, pictures that you have taken yourself, infographics, and even videos. This will add visual interest to your blog posts and can help readers understand more complicated IT topics. Plus, having additional types of content on your blog can also help with search engine optimization.

4. Share Links

When it comes to the world of IT, people like to fact-check their information. Plus, many like to read more about the topic at hand after reading a good blog post. Make sure that you share links throughout your posts; for example, you might share links to back up any statistics that you might have shared, to provide additional explanation about a complicated term or idea or to share information about new technology.

5. Encourage Conversation

Your goal with blog posts isnt about getting out the latest and greatest information on your products and services. Blogs provide a great way to establish your credibility and develop 2 way conversations with your buyer personas. Encourage your readers to communicate with you and with one another. Add a comments section on your blog; just make sure that you moderate it carefully to avoid spam or harmful behavior. Also, ensure you link your blog posts to your social media profiles; this will encourage people to follow your company on social media and to share your posts with all of their friends and followers.

The more people that you can get talking about your posts, the better. Then, you will get the feedback that you are looking for from customers and potential customers alike, and you will also make it easier for your viewers to share your blog posts -- and your website -- with the world.

Blogging can be a great way to boost your IT business, but you have to do it the right way.  Blogging is one piece of the inbound marketing puzzle, executed correctly and in parallel with on-page SEO and Social Media amplification it levels the playing field to get your company out there and visible to your prospects.
