5 Ways to Generate Traffic with Inbound Marketing

In recent years, an increasing number of businesses have been adopting more inbound marketing methods instead of traditional outbound ones. This is because these tactics and techniques are directly aligned with the wants and needs of your audience.

Instead of interrupting their online experience with obtrusive advertising, you can give them something they appreciate, find interesting or can benefit from. Not only does this help you establish an identity and improve your reputation, it can also generate more traffic to the company website.

 

But what are the ways to generate traffic with inbound marketing I hear you ask?

 

Well, here are five to get you started:

 

  1. Create compelling content

    For most businesses, this will be a blog on your company website. However, content can also include feature articles, case studies, infographics, podcasts, webinars and videos.

    Publishing content that your audience finds useful, interesting and valuable will undoubtedly generate more website traffic. They will soon think highly of these resources and keep coming back for more.

  2. Integrate keywords for SEO

    When creating content, think of subjects and themes that your audience will be looking for or seeking out online. That way, you can position the brand in front of their eyes and receive more traffic.


    However, content should include keywords that your target market uses as search terms. Your website gets indexed by search engines and by including these phrases, they will know what sort of content you are publishing.

  3. Share content on social media

    Although you can increase website visits through SEO, there are immense possibilities on social media too. As soon as you’ve created and published a new piece of content, make sure to share and publicise it on social media.


    Use hashtags to alert your audience and identify industry influences that might be able to share your content as well. But in order to be a valuable resource to existing and potential customers, remember to share the content of others too.

    When it comes implementing an email marketing campaign, you will need to provide subscribers with something worth opening and not deleting. An overly promotional email will not be gladly received or even read by its recipients.


    So, give your subscribers a reason to click on links to your website. They are clearly interested in your products and services as they signed up to receive these updates in the first place, but the onus is on your to keep it this way.


Generating traffic through these inbound marketing methods might take a bit of time to introduce, implement and optimise, but if you can dedicate enough time and effort towards them, more visitors are a distinct possibility.
